ATM
An ATM machine is available in Akumal at the Super Chomak grocery store. ATM's are also located in Playa del Carmen at banks and Super Markets and in Tulum. ATM's provide funds in Mexican Pesos at bank daily exchange rate.
Car Rental
We have two car rental preferences. The first, a small local company, Easy Way Rent a Car, can be found on the web at www.easywayrentacar.com. They do not have a counter at the airport but do pick you up. Always on time, always reliable. Additionally, Easy Way has a great chart on their website that clearly discloses rental rates, insurance included. Sales tax (10%) is not currently included in the rates shown on the chart so be sure to add that.
We have also found great rates and service with EuropCar Rentals, www.europcar.com. They do have a counter inside the arrivals terminal, but the main building is just outside to the right. A shuttle will take you between the arrival terminal and their main offices. Look for their kiosk following customs check point, to your right. A representative can help you to the shuttle.
Churches
Akumal Pueblo is home to one Catholic Church which offers mass each Monday at 5:00 PM. Mass is in Spanish.

Currency Exchange
Currency Exchanges or "Casa de Cambio" are available in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Akumal and Tulum. In Akumal, the Casa de Cambio is located in the Travel Services of Akumal building, near the Original Akumal Dive Shop.
Hours are 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM Daily.

Pharmacy
Pharmacy services are available in Akumal as well as Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Cancun. For the most product availability and best prices we recommend the Costco or Wal-Mart pharmacies in Playa del Carmen or Cancun. Akumal has a great pharmacy located in the pueblo. After carefully crossing the highway, continue up the hill along the main road. You will see the pharmacy on your left side, towards the top of the hill. It is owned and operated by Doctora Lisbeth. She is very knowledgeable. Additionally, Dra. Lisbeth is available for medical care and will travel to your accommodations. Dr. Nestor is also available to make house calls and has been taking care of visitors to the Riviera Maya for many years.

Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve
The Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is the second largest protected area in Mexico. Sian Ka'an (which means "where the sky is born" in Mayan) is home to hundreds of species, birds, peccaries, tapirs, alligators, manatees, iguanas, fish and sea turtles.
This trip takes you to the jungle ruins of Muyil-Chunyaxche located in old growth jungle of Sian Ka'an. You will marvel at the diversity of ecosystems; sea cenote, jungle, mangrove, marsh, savanna and lagoons renown for bird and butterfly observation.
Coba

Snorkel Sacred Cenotes
