This is not a resort, a duplex or a condo. It's your very own private slice of paradise. You will not have to share your space, your beach or your vacation with anyone else unless you choose to do so. With only one house next door and a caretaker's house in between, you'll have the beachfront and the reef to yourself. Casita Dragonfly is very private. Whether you're with a group of 4 or on the perfect romantic getaway for two, Casita Dragonfly is the ultimate Caribbean getaway.
Downstairs is your living room, dining room, bedroom and spacious kitchen with breakfast bar - all under 10 foot ceilings. And outside is your large shaded beachfront palapa porch, hammock, the white sands of the Costa Maya and an unspoiled Caribbean reef. You are welcome to shower outdoors in our brand new alfresco beach shower! Upstairs, accessed by an exterior staircase, is a cozy master bedroom with queen bed and vaulted ceiling with a spectacular view of the reef-protected waters. The bedroom has windows on all sides, plus a roomy ocean view terrace and complete bathroom with shower. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed and separate bathroom.
The reef protected waters offer an amazing snorkeling experience just 2 KM to the south or straight out to the reef on our two kayaks. Although the water in front of the Casita is nice enough to float in and cool off in. We suggest bringing your own snorkel gear for a perfect fit. Bring your laptop, there are DVD's. The house sustains itself with solar power and back up generator - NO hairdryers or heat producing appliances allowed. A french press is provided for your morning coffee, you won't find a microwave or toaster either!
Six short miles to Mahahual via either the beach road or the very close access "new" road you will find restaurants, a few tiendas, wonderful beachside palapas for a fabulous breakfast, lunch, dinner or refrescas. Town is a bit slower but they are rebuilding after Hurricane Dean. We are far enough away from the construction that this will not impact your stay, yet close enough to drive to if you'd like to see the rebuilding process. With the lack of cruise ships until the puerto is rebuilt, experience the quiet magic that this traditional fishing town offers. The local people are friendly, helpful and geared towards you having an unforgettable vacation.

Mid Season: May 1 – Aug 15, 2009 $135 US/night or $850/week
Maximum occupancy: 4 adults and 2 children (extra sleeping for children on large sleeper sofas)
